Jr Leadership Laurens County Graduation was held Tuesday, May 23rd. Brooks Harper, motivational speaker and author, was the compelling and entertaining keynote speaker. Congratulations to all of the Graduates of Jr Leadership Laurens County Class IV!

With the goal of promoting all of the tourism related aspects of Laurens County, the Chamber Tourism Committee launched Heritage Hype as a section of Rhythm on the Rails this year. Visitors had the opportunity to experience what makes Laurens County a great place to live, work and play and what makes this county “Simply Revolutionary”!
Team Ecology spearheads the effort to educate children through an annual event which brings all Laurens County 3rd graders to the Joe Adair Outdoor Learning Center for hands on education. There are curriculum based stations which include landfill usage, recycling, the water table and more! Check out these photos from last week at Team Ecology 2017!
On May 16th the Laurens Wal-Mart celebrated the grand opening of their Wal-Mart Academy with a graduation ceremony and ribbon cutting. Academies educate and inspire associates to serve customers with excellence. This Academy is the 5th Wal-Mart Academy in the state of South Carolina. Wal-Mart presented grant checks to the Laurens Police Department, The Laurens High School Honor Society, Laurens District 55 High School, and the SC Empowerment Centre. Regional, Market and Store Managers as well as many other Wal-Mart employees, elected officials, members of the community, and the Chamber of Commerce celebrated this exciting day!
GHS Laurens County Memorial Hospital celebrated National Healthcare Week with a Business After Hours on Tuesday, May 9th. Jamie Adair, Marketing/Communications, introduced Justin Benfield, MBA as the new Southern Region Chief Operating Officer and Dr. David Williams as the new Chief Clinical Officer. Nearly 90 community leaders, the Chamber of Commerce, and the hospital staff mingled together while enjoying delicious food and the beautiful view of the Ferguson Meditation Garden.
