SC Empowerment Centre hosted a Laurens County Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event at their new location on October 18th. Members of the community were given tours of the new facility located at 62 Bridgeway Dr in Laurens, introduced to students and served a delicious dinner. Between the mingling, students that are currently taking a professional development class, introduced themselves to each guest and asked about their career choice and what attendees enjoy about their professions. Allen Lawson and Angel Bible explained how they work to make an impact on youth in Laurens County by providing support, mentorship and services that encourage youth to meet their full potential. On September 20th Today Boyd Management celebrated the beautiful renovations at Tallwood Homes with a ribbon cutting ceremony! The Chamber of Commerce, elected officials, members of the community and residents of Tallwood Homes, joined in the celebration and took tours of some of the newly updated apartments.
On September 27th, Bailey Manor hosted a Laurens County Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event! Guests arrived aboard the U.S.S. Bailey Manor and enjoyed a cruise themed networking event, including pictures taken in front of a cruise backdrop! Great food, fellowship, karaoke and networking was had by all. Bailey Manor provides a caring community for senior adults where every person is afforded the opportunity to enjoy the fellowship of others while living life to the fullest in an atmosphere of Christian love and compassion. We had a blast exploring and learning about the Industry and Agriculture happening in Laurens County. We began the morning with industry visits, starting at Alupress. Next was Teknor Apex to see how hose pipe is made. The group enjoyed lunch at the Owings Depot, catered by Stoddards. The afternoon was full of agriculture with a visit to Willis Family Farm where we were shown the award winning goats. The tour ended at Windy Knolls with a border collie demonstration. The event was hosted by AgSouth, Clemson Extension, Laurens County Farm Bureau and the Laurens County CHamber of Commerce. On August 30, Impact 2 Purpose welcomed the community to join them in their celebratory ribbon cutting ceremony. This organization provides mentoring and strives to provide positive visions for youth in the community.
