State of Laurens County Draws Large Crowd
The State of Laurens County, a newly formatted legislative forum of the Laurens County Chamber Commerce and sponsored by CNNGA, drew a large crowd Friday for its first ever offering.
More than 160 Chamber members filled the First Baptist Church Family Life Center in Laurens, breaking previous attendance records for a legislative event by nearly twenty percent.
Business, government and civic leaders heard updates from three members of the Laurens County Legislative delegation before hearing local issues presented by County Council Chairman Jim Coleman, Mayor Sharon Brownlee of Laurens, and Mayor Randy Randall of Clinton.
"I was extremely happy with the energy and support our chamber members continue to show. The Address was right on the mark and another Chamber program aimed at unifying our county and setting the course for the future," said Rob Clapper, CEO and President of the Chamber.
The luncheon was sponsored by Clinton-Newberry Natural Gas Authority.
