Easter to Serve on Dairy Farmers of America Board of Directors


Glenn Easter At the 2007 Annual Meeting of Dairy Farmers of America, Inc. (DFA) held recently in Kansas City, Missouri, twenty members were reelected to the cooperative’s 51-member Board of Directors. This year, four new members were elected to DFA’s board including Glenn Easter of Eastglen Farm in Laurens.

Every year, members at the local level elect dairy farmers to represent them in DFA&rsquos leadership and governance structure. DFA&rsquos Board represents the interests of the member-owners, which are located within DFA’s seven geographic marketing areas. Board members provide direction, set policies, establish financial structure, approve capital budgets, and establish duties and responsibilities for DFA’s governance structure.

Easter and his wife, Marilyn, operate Eastglen Farm, a second generation farm established in 1927. The 360 acre farm includes 300 milk cows and a 100 cow/calf beef operation.

Easter has served in numerous state, regional and national leadership roles within the dairy and farming industry. The Easter&rsquos are very active in the Laurens County community. They were named a Laurens County Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Quarter in 2006 for their business success and community service.
