Randall Frye Receives Recognition for Tourism Support

The Laurens County Chamber of Commerce recently had one of its own named a Five Star Award Winner from the Old 96 Tourism Commission.
Randall Frye, Vice President for Membership Services, has been named as one of the 2007-2008 Five Star Award Winners from the Tourism Commission whose mission is to support the counties of Abbeville, Edgefield, Greenwood, Laurens, and McCormick.
"This is a huge validation of his long term support of tourism in Laurens County. The award encompasses his passion and continued work with the Tourism Commission to promote our area and communities. Randall can always be counted on to further the tourism efforts of our great county," said Rob Clapper, President & CEO of the Laurens County Chamber of Commerce.
Randall’s role at the Chamber of Commerce is directing the development and implementation of programs that support the Chamber’s growing membership. He oversees all member-relations programs with the focus of energizing and involving the members while strengthening the community for the future. Most importantly he serves as the staff liaison to the successful Tourism and Chamber Development committee of the Chamber.
"This year’s awardees are being recognized for their tireless support, continued dedication, and willingness to give of their time with the goal of promoting their perspective areas. Randall can always be counted on to show Laurens County in the best tourism light," said Mrs. Vicki Loughner, the Project Manager for the Old 96 Tourism Commission.
There is no doubt Randall has helped keep tourism in the fore-front long before we had an energetic committee,” said Jim Firmin, The Chairman of the Chamber Board.
Randall will receive the award from the legislative delegation at a meeting in Columbia at the Statehouse on January 23rd.
