Local Bed & Breakfast Offers Fall Classes


Chef Janet Henley of The Farmhouse at Bush River Bed and Breakfast has earned a culinary degree from the University of South Carolina’s Culinary Institute. She is a member of The American Culinary Federation and is certified by ServSafe.

The Farmhouse at Bush River will begin hosting classes and events of interest to the community.

August 19th, 3:00-5:00 Tapas for your next party
Spanish tapas, or little plates, have been all the rage. Here’s how to make variations on the tapas theme for your next party. Recipes included. $15.00 per person.

September 23rd, 3:00-5:00 The Art of Cooking with Herbs
Herbalist Julie Allen from Great Falls will give us a look at the myriad ways herbs can be used in cooking and baking. She will take us from garden to table while showing us how to "spice up" our dishes. Included will be hands on work, recipes, and herbal taste tests. $15.00 per person.

October 21st, 3:00-5:00 Getting Ready for Winter: Hearty Stocks and Stews
How to make those delicious full bodied stocks to base winter soups and stews will be the focus of this workshop. Techniques, recipes and hands on work will be included. $20.00 per person

November 9th, 6:00-8:00 Wine Pairings for Those Holiday Meals
An area wine seller will tell us which wines will compliment those special holiday meals and events. Tasting will be involved. $25.00 per person.
