Chamber Receives National Award for Member Retention
The Laurens County Chamber of Commerce has been presented with a 2006 Membership Achievement Award by its governing professional organization, the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE). The award recognizes the chamber’s excellence in membership throughout the 2006-07 fiscal year. The chamber achieved a top level placement in the under $200,000 dues income category for Member Retention.
"We are very surprised and honored by the award. Retention remains the best indicator if we are supporting our members and getting it right. It’s a real tribute to the hard work of the chamber staff and the growing number of volunteers," said Rob Clapper the Chamber’s CEO and President.
The Membership Achievement Awards are determined from public information provided annually to the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives. The award recipients are identified for their strength and success in retaining their current membership levels.
"This honor is another successful indication that our chamber and our communities have a very bright future that is only getting brighter," said Dr. Bud Marchant, the Chairman of the Chamber Board of Directors.
All award winners will be recognized during the annual Awards Gala at the 2007 ACCE Convention in Sacramento, CA in August where the Laurens County Chamber will also compete for the 2007 ACCE National Chamber of the Year. Currently the Chamber is a top-three finalist in the national competition.
