This award is presented annually to an advocate in one of the 12 Main Street South Carolina member-cities who provides outstanding support for downtown revitalization efforts. When the city decided it needed a local Main Street South Carolina program, Pasty was on board then and has been an ardent supporter ever since.
She has served on the Main Street Laurens board of directors, design committee and promotions Committee. Adams is involved with many of the office activities for Main Street Laurens and also manages the volunteers for all Main Street events.
She attends almost every council meeting and stays on top of issues that affect downtown. Patsy and her husband, Bill, purchased and revitalized a downtown building which is now home to a successful business.
Jonathan Irick, Executive Director of Main Street Laurens says, "Patsy is my right-hand person and I value her honest opinions and support." Main Street South Carolina is a program offered through the Municipal Association of South Carolina to help citizens gain the knowledge, skills, tools and organizational structure needed to revitalize their downtowns, neighborhood commercial districts and cities or towns into vibrant centers of commerce and community.
