AMIkids Piedmont’s students raise funds for Haiti Relief Fund
The students, staff and volunteers of AMIkids Piedmont have been moved to action by the recent devastation in Haiti. AMIkids’ students are raising funds for the American Red Cross’s Haiti Relief Fund by service oriented work for donations. Students will be available until February 6th.
An anonymous donor and generous AMIkids supporter has committed to match all funds raised by the kids for the relief fund. All 100% of funds collected will given to the American Red Cross. Please support this local event where your donation can be doubled and have an even greater impact on those affected in Haiti.
AMIkids Piedmont is one of 56 programs in eight states affiliated with AMIkids, Inc., headquartered in Tampa, Florida. AMIkids is a national non-profit organization dedicated to providing a promising future to troubled youth who were on the wrong path or have failed in conventional school settings.
The recent earthquake in Haiti has claimed hundreds of thousands of lives and left countless others in suffering, including children. In the course of learning more about the tragedy, the students of AMIkids felt it was their responsibility to organize this event to contribute in some way. AMIkids Vice President of Operations Heyward Golden said, “It is invaluable for our kids’ personal growth to help the people in Haiti who have significantly larger needs than their own. We are so moved by the outpouring of concern from our students and will lend them our full support as they work to raise support for the Haiti Relief Fund.”
Since 1969, AMIkids has partnered with local communities to help more than 100,000 misguided youth develop into responsible and productive citizens. AMIkids programs focus on family values, education, character building and experiential learning. For more information, visit www.amikids.org.
