Humane Society & Clinton Animal Hospital offer special cat spay surgery prices

Dr. Jennifer Dixon of Clinton Animal Hospital and Laurens County South Carolina Humane Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals announce a partnership effort to provide spay surgery for 60 female cats at the special reduced price of $25 per cat. This price includes a Rabies shot and the spay surgery. The price for feral cats is $20 for spay and Rabies vaccine.

Any Laurens County resident is eligible to register. These special rate surgeries/Rabies vaccines will be done locally at Clinton Animal Hospital. Appointments will be made through the Humane Society only.

The pet owner must pre-register through the Humane Society and pre-pay in cash. Humane Society volunteers will be available at these locations and dates: Village Cup, 917 West Main Street in Laurens on Thursday evening, January 28, from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. and the Clinton YMCA, 100 YMCA Drive in Clinton on Saturday, January 30, from 9:30-12 p.m. Cat owners may sign up for either February 3 or February 17 at these pre-registration locations/times.

On February 3 and February 17, cat owners with an appointment must bring the cat(s) to Clinton Animal Hospital, 404 Willard Rd., Clinton at 7:30 a.m. The owner must pick-up the cat(s) at 4:30 p.m. the same day as the surgery is done.

This special female cat spay event is offered to help cut down the number of litters of kittens being born in Laurens County. Appointment space is limited to the first 60 cats pre-registered and prepaid.

If appointment spaces are still available for February 17, another pre-register and pre-pay event will take place at the Village Cup on Thursday, February 4, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. and Friday, February 5, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Clinton YMCA.

Interested cat owners should attend one of these registration events or call the humane society at 984-6484 with questions.
