United Way and Senior Options to Offer Bags of Love for Valentine’s Day

United Way

United Way of Laurens County and Senior Options are teaming up again to provide Bags Of Love to Meals on Wheels recipients in Laurens County. Local businesses and community members are encouraged to participate by collecting Bags Of Love to be distributed with meals on Wednesday, February 10th.

"Senior Options is excited to work with the United Way once again this year on the Bags of Love project," said Christine Pyles, Client Coordinator at Senior Options. "The smiles on the faces of the recipients says it all. A special thanks goes out to everyone who gave last year and especially to the United Way for all their hard work. It is amazing what can happen when a community comes together."

Small gift bags may be filled with travel-sized personal care items such as toothpaste, soap, tissues, etc. All items can be dropped off at the Senior Options facility located at 512 Professional Park Road (behind the hospital) or at the United Way office at 16 Peachtree Street in Clinton. Please drop off all items before Friday, February 5th. If you are interested in volunteering to help deliver meals and bags, please contact Senior Options at 938.0572 x21.

Senior Options’ Meals on Wheels program delivers around 1100 meals every Wednesday to approximately 200 residents in Laurens County. The home delivered meals are available to persons who cannot cook for themselves, who have no one to cook for them, and are homebound.

United Way of Laurens County is a non-profit organization which has served the Laurens County area since 1955 and supports 21 local non profit agencies in the areas of healthcare, elder care, education, literacy, family and youth initiatives, disaster relief and crisis intervention.
