Eddie Lathan Honored


Mr. Lathan and Governor Sanford Each year, during Industry Appreciation week, the Governor of South Carolina recognizes individuals from the private sector from each of the 46 counties for their contributions to further community and economic development initiatives throughout the state.

Eddie Lathan is Laurens County’s representative for 2007.

Mr. Lathan purchased Woodfield Industrial Park in November 2005. In July 2006, Mr. Lathan started construction on a 31,600 SF speculative building in the park. He was also instrumental in assisting Laurens County in recruiting Tiger Enterprises into Woodfield Industrial Park. Mr. Lathan has also been actively involved in meeting with prospects to promote both Laurens County and Woodfield Industrial Park.

He is President of LATCO Development Group in Greenville. Over the past several years, he has developed over 400,000 SF of industrial space in Upstate South Carolina. He earned a BA in Economics from Wofford College in 1979 and earned the CCIM Designation in 1999. Active in civic affairs, Mr. Lathan has served on numerous boards in the Greenville area.

He and his wife Darleene have been married 27 years and have two children Kelley and Corbett. They reside in Greenville.
