Ambassador Spotlight: Jenny Turner

Tell us about yourself.

I grew up near the coast of North Carolina and moved to South Carolina when I married my wonderful husband, Roger, seven years ago. I am a beach girl at heart but love the outdoors and being in nature. I have two cute fur babies, and love coffee! My faith is very important to me and is the core of who I am as a person.

Tell us about your job!

I work at Thornwell as the Community Engagement Coordinator. I help recruit and retain volunteers, and work in the community to bring awareness and build relationships for Thornwell. I love that my job directly impacts the children and families served by Thornwell in taking steps to help end child abuse and neglect and help build healthy families and communities.

Tell us about your roles with the Laurens County Chamber.

I have served as a Chamber Ambassador for two years and absolutely love this opportunity to meet new people, offer support, and make connections to better the Chamber and Thornwell.

Why do you love Laurens County?

Even though I am not from Laurens County, I love that every person I meet makes me feel like I am at home. Laurens County has welcomed me with open arms, and I love the sense of unity that the country brings in coming together to better the community.
